I love how Bmore club takes ahold of skinny peoples waist! They start gyrating uncontrollably, shaking imaginary asses and other missing ingredients for making grinding worth while. Just messing, skin doesn’t need fat under it to feel good I suppose.

So though I’ve had less than hype words to spill over the whole Bmore club thing in the past, fuck, I’ve matured and get it now. After seeing Claire Hux outside of Baltimore, I realized it’s not necessarily the offensive lyrics that irk me…I just feel when you take the ghetto out of Bmore club what you really have is just a bunch of skinny people doing shit.

***side note…we’re moving on up, by the end of the week we’ll unfold part of the master plan so come back Thursday, Friday, etc…and not only was this post inspired by Claire Hux, this tee, please note…they were playing digable planets and shit :

Being low key and inclement heat brazing over the city this weekend, didn’t stop me from checking the block party thrown by, wait for it…Philly’s #1 art and cultural mag-McJawn(215 mag is ok, for shit we all heard before: the Roots, the police bombing a neighborhood of about 61 houses in North Philly, etc. etc.). Now I only stayed for the length of time it took me to finish a pint, and I was thirstaay…And rightfully sobrownies and heat are no match. For the short time I was there though:

I couldn’t get that Boners All the Time song out of my heads…inspired to see a collective that embraces communities outside of Fishtown and funky hippy town aka parts of West Philly…looking forward to seeing what becomes of McJawn, like I hope they all stay heroin free, and keep progress, because not only does the scene need them, the city benefits from events like theirs too. (215 mag block party?)

The good peoples over at McJawn hip me to a party outside of Fishtown. And although their promo units lack the display of booty and bottles on a high gloss 5 by 7( like who’s idea was it to think outside the box), I might go. The lineup includes, obviously, well-dressed talents minus that hooch Amanda Blank.

Most fresh, their promotions:

Throwing a jam the progressive way…their video too:

note…people from jersey, love yous, this isnt a nitrous party though.

I must admit, this post was inspired by the seminal street styles of Manhattan, my dude (booty). My man, Scott Schuman, is a genius as all people who dress right know.

The ladies on his blog in their fits are always schwing and the guys possibly attract a lot of gay mens out there with ease. So triggered by the thought of capturing sartorialist in Philly and finding a model jawn that shared similar interest in the finest of linens…I went out and caught some flicks that ultimately came out like tags. Center City is as classy as tucked in shirts:

note…Schuman just came out with a book recaping all his top shelf shit from over the years and also, I remember thinking the beauty on the cover was sexy, not pretty, but sexy:

I’ve always been amazed at how Nike could simultaneously market to overground and underground markets effectively. Rather it be some ghetto shit, suburban-performance jogging shit, or just their push into the hard to please realm of skateboarding, they always seem to get it.

I’m too fat to skateboard, has always been my moronic cop-out for not jumping on board. That being acknowledged, my thoughts on the topic is definitely lacking, but I would think a high definition skate video would be too sweet/bitch to appeal to a bunch of ruffians that skate all day and steal snacks from their local 7-11 (in Jersey WaWa). According to the faceless voices on the Internets though, Nike’s HD skate video Debacle, which is the first ever HD skate vid, is more than proper:

And of course, being the marketing don that they are, you have 3 more days to download the vid for free here, if you haven’t already.  I have, it was ok, I’m fat, but I do dig this commercial with LA’s Paul Rodriguez and Ice Cube:

Like a prostitute, you never know what you’re going to get with it, but it wasn’t worth the risk this time. So I guess this post could really be titled Whartscape/Artscape 2008: Philly, Titties & Beats 2009:

Core 77 is a virtual must for peeping design from outer space. Their site should basically be mandatory reading in inner shittycity schools along with the mural of a pregnant teen looking somber. Pushing progressive products that challenge the conventional is very much an every day thing for them. Case and point, their latest concept, limited edition of course (25), is a bike that expresses style way beyond the framework of  the typical fixie. If that’s not enough, some smart ass came up with the genius idea to name it the Dutch Master…salute:
